How to calculate your BMI?
Your Body Mass Index is a rough guide to your level of total body fat.
Calculate your BMI by dividing your weight (kg) by your height in metres squared. e.g. 70kg divided by (1.7 x 1.7) = 24.2
This will give you an indication of where you fall in terms of weight ranges. If your BMI is:
- less than 18, you are considered ‘underweight’.
- between 18 and 25, this is the ideal weight range.
- between 25 and 30, you are considered ‘overweight’.
- above 30, your BMI suggests that your in the ‘obese’ weight range.
